Electric Window One Touch Up/Down Function

Postby DeuceTudor » Wed Jun 16, 2021 11:29 am

2017 Transit Custom,
Drivers side window has one touch function for up / down, but it doesn't work for the passenger window, either from the drivers side switch or the passenger door switch. Ford ETIS shows the van has "Power Front Windows One Touch Up/Down" should this work on both sides or is it drivers window only ? Went to my local Ford Dealer and they didn't know !!

Mine is a 2018 model (facelift) and it's the same. Only the driver side has one touch up/down.

My advice: change dealer if they can't answer the simplest of questions.

Thanks for the feedback, does any body know if it could be coded for one touch on the passenger side? It was one of a handful of options on my jeep that didn't stop working

One touch needs an extra relay in the door which holds the power on, so it's not just down to programming.

My Focus has one touch on both windows, so it isn't hard for it to be factory fitted, just Ford being cheap

Makes me laugh how Citroen vans have this on both windows yet Ford are so cheap!!

My 2016 connect only had one touch to roll the window down!! So the transit is at least a small improvement

I thought they didn't put it on the passenger side for safety reasons. My dog likes to stick his head out of that window and he's always standing on the switch.

That makes sense but why can’t the drivers side have the feature for both windows

For safety reasons, windows whith "one touch up" funktion, must have "anti pinch" technology. This consists of a current monitoring device which measures the current to to windowmotor. If the measured current goes over an destinct threshold, the window will stop and automaticaly open again.
Clearly this makes the system somewhat more expensive and that's why it isn' t there on both windows.
