Using existing auxiliary battery to power fridge & inverter

Postby Harrold0b » Thu Oct 07, 2021 5:28 am

Hi All,
I'm about to upgrade my 2014 transit custom from work van to camper/work van. My set up isn't going to be anything special but i was planning on installing an inverter and fridge. Has anyone been able to run their camping set up off the existing auxiliary battery or do you all recommend installing another separate leisure battery?

You run a inverter you will soon flatten it even with a large leisure batteries it will not work long your beat bet is to get a 3 way fridge and run it on gas when parked up and the van when traveling and the 240 v when at home or on a proper site to cool it down before traveling.

And you don’t want to flatten the aux battery as it runs the centre locking and non engine running thing’s
