Transit power stalls when service required msg comes on

I have a 67 plate transit custom 290 trend 1995cc.
I get a service required message up normally when doing above 60mph and mainly when cruise control is being used. When this happens the engine speed stalls/pauses for a few seconds and the accelerator is u responsive, it then clears and goes back to normal. I mainly do motorway miles. This can happen once In a 2hr journey or upto 5/6 times. Last service was a full service approx 10000 miles ago.
