‘service soon’ message on new van

Hello all. I just joined and am hoping someone may be able to help with my query.

Last week we became the new owners of a Ford Transit Custom Campervan. It’s a 2l, 2022 model and when we collected it from the dealers it had 30+ miles on the clock.

When driving it home we got a warning message saying ‘Service required’ - was doing around 50mph at the time.
Message cleared with pressing ‘OK’ and reappeared a few miles down the road, cleared again and it didn’t pop up.

It isn’t the message relating to the oil change but we did try the reset (both pedals together etc).

Husband drive it to local Ford dealers this morning and of course the message didn’t come on. However he was within a mile of home when another message appeared - this one says ‘Service Soon’.

Anyone got any clues?

They all do that.
I reckon it's to change the oil and filter after the initial break in. A thousand miles should do it.
GO on the Ford website and download a manual if you haven't already. Not sure if Haynes do a manual for the latest vans yet, 62 to 67 is available.

Thanks for that - very grateful. Have downloaded the manual but couldn’t see anything in it that would help.
We are due to drive down to Bristol for Grandson’s 18th and we’re worried we would t make it.

Quick update in case the info is useful to other members…

Diagnostic check at Ford workshop show an injector fault. Apparently there was a batch of faulty injectors fitted to Transit Customs in 2021/2 and ours must have been one of them.

Hopefully it will be sorted out by Friday.

Sorry, it was Evans Halshaw transit centre at Old Trafford, Manchester.
