Diesel fuel additive

Postby Hart_graham » Wed Nov 16, 2022 1:07 pm

Does anyone put 2 stroke oil in the diesel? Been reading about how you can put 350Ml synthetic 2 stroke oil in per 70 L tank of diesel. It seems it makes the engine run much quieter with less knock on tick over and keeps the AGR and inlet manifold clean. Some dealers do it before they sell a car to make it run quieter.

I used to do it all the time on my Di and TDDi motors, (a small qty of acetone as well), but have never liked to risk it in the TDCI :|

Yes, it seems to be the general opinion that you don't do it with common rail diesels - different type of pump.
Think I shall stick to Millers to clean the EGR valve and inlet manifold.

I stopped useing two-stroke and acetone. When I got my mk8 I was worried about it affecting the Dpf.
