2020 Tourneo Rear Seat Stuck

Hi There!
I have a 21 plate Tourneo Custom which I love to bits, I was moving the seats to create some room and when lifting the last handle there was a twang and now one of the floor bolts won't unlock to release the seat. I think I can repair it, but the current struggle is removing the plastic cover around the base of the seat so I can gain access to investigate. I thought it might be just a case of the plastic clips coming off, but they feel a bit stubborn! Does anyone have any experience with this, or is it that I need to use more brute force and ignorance?!

Welcome to the forum - Sorry, not sure - I've never had that happen to mine - I did have one of the little red pop out things snap off, but it didn't affect the operation - hope you got it sorted

If the round clips holding those trims are plastic then you need to push the centre out with something small like a drill bit. They’ll be an expanding clip, the centre pin splays it out.
If they’re metal (ally) then they’ll be pop rivets and you’ll need to drill them out.

Did this issue get solved and how? Mine gas done this yesterday and no idea how to make it release and can't clip the seat back in properly. Any help would be great

Having exactly the same problem here - want to get into the workings of the seat to see where the problem is but cant get the plastic covers off

Hello, i just bought Tourneo Custom 2013 and there is the same issue with one of the rear seat. I can't remove it, one side is stuck, unfortunately near the close the side of a car and even i remove a plastic cover, i can't reach to the mechanism.

I managed to figure this out. I had a bent catch that was holding the wire catch for one side which meant that it wasn’t holding the cable in place and getting enough “pull” and was almost slipping out of the bracket. Managed to get the wire back in and then used a screwdriver and a mallet to gently tap the catch back into position and it fixed the issue. If only one side is pulling and popping the red tab out, I’d definitely start here. Images isn’t great but hopefully helps.

What a shock. Have this exact problem and find I'm not the only one.

Does anyone have a detailed solution I really need to get mine turned around to conference setting did the middle one first, then removed the drivers side one, so far so good, try to remove the last seat and only one pin pops out.

I just had the same issue and fixed it

First check that if the steel rope is pulling the main spring and locking mechanism like in bicycles
On top of the seat there is a fork, if its not pulling
It can be bended. Just bend it to fix to other direction by a plier


If it’s pulling but not Releasing the lock then Remove the cover and try to pull the spring by plier

After you remove the seat now, you are able to remove the locking mechanism
After you remove the mechanism, if you try to open it, you will never assemble it back
But you will still be able to use main functionality of the mechanism by connecting back the main spring
In that case, read indicators will not work, but the seats will still be operational

Has anyone found a resolution? I have a doubt seat stuck on one side and cannot get it out?
