Windshield wiper does not work, B1131 fault

Postby Andrus » Sun Jan 15, 2023 6:20 pm

Hello!

Does anyone can comment.
Transit Custom 2015 year, 114KW.
Replaced starter motor and repaired its wiring.
After that windshield wipers not working. Using Launch code reader, Body control module showst fault code B1131:87-0A.
Then guideline, that need wiper calibration: Push wiper lever down 3 times during 5 seconds, then wipers should move upward and stop at pre-initialization point.

Did it, fault code gone, but no wipers working. Tried again and then RH side wiper slowly and slopyly moves up. LH wiper moves like 1 cm amplitude or something like that.

Any comment or guidelines?

All the Best !

There is a common fault with the wipers on customs. Take the multiplug off the drivers wiper motor and see if its all corroded.

Hello!
I found out that connectors at wiper motors are OK. When measured voltage at motor connector, it was about 12,7 volt. Battery voltage was 12,5 volt. Problem was, that not enough power to wiper motors. Problem is under engine compartment fuse box. I used temporary solution: installed separate power with 20A fuse. For both wipers. Originally was 2 x 30A fuses.

My mistake, voltage at wiper connector was 11,7 volt.
Any guidelines how to open remove engine compartment fuse box, so I can see rear side of it ?
