Hi I have a brand new high side fuel pump fitted on my 2017 transit custom 2.0 euro 6, I think the control valve on top might be faulty, with the ignition on and just the pump in the tank running fuel is flowing through the return line, when cranking its not building enough pressure to fire up, on my icarsoft scanner the fuel rail presure desired is 23000-24000kpa but I'm only getting up to about 17000kpa, if I block the return coming out of the pump it builds pressure and fires up.
Does the new pump have to be coded or learned on a computer? Or could it be a dud controle valve?
Could I just pull the valve of the top of the pump and replace it?
