Reset intelligent oil

Postby pedro3178 » Fri Jan 27, 2023 7:52 pm

Would appreciate if someone could advise on this procedure please. I have a 2022 transit custom eco blu and have just carried out an oil and filter change and would like to reset the oil service timer. I thought it would be the same as my other one as by pressing brake pedal and accelerator but this doesn't seem to work. Any help would be great thank you.

If it’s not in the cluster sub menus,
Settings / Maintenence / reset oil life.
Then it is reset by holding the pedals as you’ve said.
Does your van tell you the oil life remaining in the cluster in days and mileage ?

Yes, it does indeed but I have no reset option. I can’t find it now but I read somewhere this morning that Ford have now removed the option for the owner to reset the oil service timer and it can only be done by ford or with specific equipment

Sit in the van, doors closed.
Turn ignition on.
Hold down brake and accelerator pedals together for at least 30 seconds.
Release pedals and then turn ignition off.
Either leave ignition off 5 mins and with doors closed, nothing turned on.
Or lock van up and leave it 5 mins.

Recheck the distance / mileage to oil change in cluster, should have gone to 12’500.

Thank you very much! It’s now reset to 24800 miles and 730 days . I wasn’t holding pedals down for 30 seconds!

Much appreciated
