Headlight swap to projector lens

Postby icebyte-78 » Sat Aug 03, 2024 8:32 pm

Has anyone performed a headlight swap from reflector lenses to the projector type? IF so, is it just a matter of plug and play, or does it need Forscan coding?
The connectors look the same what i can find in pictures, but the projector headlight has more bulbs it looks like.
I can always create an adapter cable if need be, i would just have to find the correct plugs, most likely salvage them from wrecked units/vans.
Perhaps these cables can be modified if the need arises:

I'd like to put LED headlights in, and i think the projector lenses will perform better, and be less annoying for other road users.

I did it with my 14 plate. Just swapped them. The turn lights don't work though.

That's not too bad, could always wire them as daytime running lights with perhaps different bulbs. Something worth considering if i come about a cheap set of projector headlights.
Might have a look at forscan, to see if there might be an option to enable them whenever i manage to get my hands on a set.

I'm not talking about indicators. They work fine, just the extra turn /cornering ones

To get cheap ones, look for ones with broken tabs. Then repair the broken tab. Not really as amazing as I thought they would be to be honest. I'm back on my normal ones as I had an mot.

It's been a while, but over here in the netherlands it wouldn't be an issue to have different lights in, as they are original to the model.
would cornering lights be something that could be enabled usinf forscan?

All the other features, like height adjustment, DRL, main/high beam work without an issue?
