Ford transit custom 2.2 2014 limp mode - solution

Postby Ruudo » Thu Apr 03, 2025 10:19 am

Ford Transit Custom 2.2 2014

Warnings:
- Engine service now (warning)
- EML light on

The vehicle enters ‘limp mode,’ no turbo.

Parts already replaced/new based on readout:
- MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor
- Glow plugs

Issue reoccurred.

Parts replaced, not listed in the readout:
- Intercooler temperature sensor (T30), Part No. 2 006 019 (~€25)

The issue was traced to intercooler pipes, and the sensor was contaminated with oil.
Cleaning the sensor might provide a quick fix.

Hi OP,

Did you get this resolved? What was the cause/fix?

I have the same year transit custom as you with almost the identical issue. I've already replaced the glow plugs, have the MAF sensor to change too (although it seems this is unlikely to be the cause). Also have the EML on and the 'engine service now' warning. It's holding back.

Thanks.
