I thought I’d post this up just in case it helps someone else…. About 10 days ago my 130ps 2018 DCIV L2H1 transit custom (pre-facelift) started doing a double beep sometimes when locking, this normally happens when a door isn’t closed. However, checking when the doors they where all closed and locked and as time went on the issue became more prevalent … Yesterday I went outside to the van and found the battery completely dead. I jumpstarted the van and the battery voltage shot up to 14.4 volts indicating the battery fully charged (the battery was an AGM type), however cranking killed the voltage. I replaced the battery with a new one (it was still the 7yo original Ford factory battery) and haven’t had the locking double beep issue since then....
.... so I’m thinking the locking double beep could be an indicator of a dying battery as a bad battery seems to throw up all sorts of gremlins on these vans.
