Middle, passenger air vent

Postby dioliahary » Tue Jul 01, 2025 7:38 am

Hello, Ford Transit Custom 2019.

My middle dashboard passenger air vent does not blow air out. On investigation there is a black gauze blocking/restricting the air in the pipe. The other dashboard air vents do not have this gauze in place and allow a good air flow.

It looks OEM, any ideas please, is this normal.

:D Harry.

further delving

looks like its quite complicated with lots of parts that could fail or snap off ..even has its own electronics on it to control it

isn't google AI wonderful ..it even told me what you were trying to type ..as i thought "gjbd out" was some modern acronym

The abbreviation "gjbd out" appears to be a misspelling or a typo. There's no recognized meaning for "gjbd out" in standard English or slang. It's possible the user intended to type something else, or it could be a very specific, niche term not widely known. Given the context of "out," it might be related to "give out," which can mean to distribute, or to complain, or to make something public. However, without more context, it's impossible to say definitively what was meant.

Lol I can't see the whole screen as I type.
Combined with a new phone (that's already cracked) and my smashed up finger nail ( I used my brothers Aldi socket set to try and undo a carrier bolt!).

Interesting, if others have same… the gauze, on mine looks OEM, so reluctant to meddle with it/remove etc.

We are off to Europe for a while soon, my wife is more comfortable in the middle seat, but quickly realised that she had no air con when we travel.
