Upgrade to custom

Postby PlumberCol » Thu Sep 25, 2025 7:18 pm

Evening everybody hope all are well.
I upgraded from my mk6 (body rotted around the engine) to a 2017 270 130ps custom. Had the wet belt done on purchase and have been really impressed with it.
Had the dreaded intermittent "service required" with the orange I bulb strart to come on. Only came on when up to temp EGT11 140c, EGT12 140c, EGT13 1000c, EGT14 -40c.
Bought the forscan and as thought came up with P126a code.
Checked and tested the wiring to the injector all is good.
Purchased the l type inline diesel injector socket set and a universal injector puller kit "so tooled up if another one goes us"
Question is do I go for the dealer injector or will the PF Jones or aftermarket be up to spec.
Apologies for the long message thought background was important.
Any ideas or comments?

well i don't think anything should be 1000 degrees c , the exhaust would be glowing very hot ... gone past red .. gone past Orange and nearly into yellow hot.

Think this is the sensor after the DPF and i hear a regeneration can be 600 c - 700c MAX ... so something is wrong!

Please note that this is one of the most difficult engines to extract injectors from, and even official Ford workshops often have difficulty.
In Italy, when I had my first injector replaced under warranty, Ford dismantled the entire cylinder head from the engine because they were unable to extract it.
