Ford Transit Custom P115A and P115B

Postby gjkelly1961 » Sun Oct 12, 2025 3:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I am a new member to this forum. I would like some advice on my 2015 Ford Transit Custom 2.2 L Diesel.

The other day I set off and after 2 mins the engine stalled, so I tried to resart several times, it cranked fine, engine started and then cut out!

I knew I was low on diesel plus I did happen to have a New Fuel filter, so I changed the fuel filter and Put 5 Litres of Diesel in it.

I tried to start the engine but Cranked but will not run at all.

I tried the screader valve on the fuel pump, but no signs of any diesel comming out.

I scanned it with my Snapon Zeus and had the following codes P115A and P115B

Im not sure what Mk my van is, but some advice would be appreciated

codes ,mean, its been run low on fuel, so now it has air in it

when you change the fuel filter you must fill it with fuel... may take more cranking with a fully charged battery to get it started again .. may take a squirt of east start to get it going

all the best.mark

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply, I actually got it sorted.

I only put 5 Litres of Diesel in it, Tank must have been empty.

Having watched a few videos on youtube before I changed the fuel filter, there was no mention
in any of them of filling filter with Diesel.

What they do say was to bleed the system using the schreider valve on the Main high pressure fuel pump
which I did and nothing came out.

Afrer a bit of thought I realised that the van was parked on a slope with the front at the lower end
So I put in another 16 litres of Diesel and hay Presto I had signs of diesel and the Van started!!! Hooray

Thank you for taking the time to reply and I hope that this solution will help somebody else.

Gary
