2019 - Passnger Headlight/Mirror Indicator

Hi,

We've a 2019 DCIV Custom and with all of this rain over the last few weeks, I ended up driving through a 2" deep puddle on the passenger side which splashed water up into the engine bay. The passenger light unit flickered and then stopped working - no DRL, no dip beam and no indicators. The indicator repeater on the passenger side wing mirror also stopped.

Weirdly though, the passenger light main beam works, as does the passenger side mirror fold and heat functions.

Anyone know where the wire(s) that connect all of these items together sits please?

All other electrics on the van work fine and I have had no error messages.

That sounds like a BCM issue,
It may be coincidence it’s failed after driving through the water,I’d be looking at all the connectors into the BCM for signs of water or green corrosion.

Hi,

That was my first thought, but everything else works. So only passenger side headlight, DRL, indicator and passenger side wing mirror repeater bulb have gone.

I have all functions of heated and folding mirrors. Passenger headlight main/full beam works. This is what got me thinking it is more a specific common wire(s) that some water splashing would have affected.

The cab in the van is dry with no water ingress.

I do have the on-line Haynes wiring diagram, but it is not as clear as some other their other models. E34 is the BCM. D1 us the mirror seembly.

There’s no real pattern to what Will and won’t work,
You can lose lots of functions all on different systems,or just 1 function in entire van.

It depends which connector the water tracks into,and if it then gets into BCM,which component fails or corrodes.
You won’t necessarily even notice water ingress or damp in the cabin.

Campers have a similar issue purely due to the condensation of living in the van,running down inside of windscreen into BCM……

Ok thanks. BCM is under the dash isn't it? Is it easy enough to get to and look at the connections?

Finally got this sorted. Headlight had failed, and so had the BCM. Looks like the scuttle and drain tube had got blocked and overflowed into the BCM.
