Cruise control/ clutch turn it off

Postby james15678 » Tue Apr 07, 2026 5:26 pm

Hi,
I have a 2019 custom with factory fitted cruise control, eveytime I press clutch it disengage the cruise control.
On my 22 plate custom it does not disengage standard cruise control when clutch is pressed, is there a way to program it so the clutch wont disengage cruise control.

Thank you

Every vehicle I’ve had with cruise control as always turned the cruise control off when you press the clutch I’d say the problem is the 22 plate van unless you’re saying you have to reset the speed when re-engaging the cruise as it’s not going to the last setting

Have a fleet of 22 plates at work, they all let you change gear and dont need to re activate cruise.
Been googling it, early models disengage cruise, same for focus and kuga, just wondering if I could change a setting with forscan

My 2012 Focus definitely doesn't shut down the cruise when changing gear, but obviously, it must disengage it whilst doing so, otherwise the revs would try and increase.
It will shut down if the road speed is too slow for the gear that it's in, presumably to stop the engine labouring, but I wonder if a faulty clutch switch is causing your problem :?

must be a new thing every cruise I've tried if you touch clutch or brake or starts labouring on a hill etc its cuts cruise of then you've got to hit resume button which takes you back to previous set speed........ i think

Definitely shuts down if you brake, or the engine starts labouring, but mine surprisingly allows me to drop down a cog.
