Ford tourneo 2.2 2015 rear heating control unit

Hello, new on here but need a bit of help, got a Ford Tourneo Custom.2 2015 and my rear heater control unit has stopped working. Under inspection it looks like some water has got in and now not working, but funny enough, of a while playing i plugged it in backwards and it works, fan is on high and controls dont work.

Any help would be appreciated, ive seen these on ebay buy they can be up to £100 just wondering if there a cheaper way or something, thank you

No just a climate control for rear,

if its the fan that isnt coming on , and i think it works connected up the wrong way because it bypasses the resistors

so resistor pack "may" has failed - i'm not in your van diagnosing , so best i can do

does that unit in the picture do the front as well, i'm not familiar

if it does you have about 3 choices of resistor unit - parts diagrams is not very good on this ..you can only see a splurge.

one of these is inside the heater fan unit shroud, under the dash, so pull out to ID .. then buy .. above are not recommendations .. just the first ones to come up
and this diagnoses is a guess .

No this only controls the rear as its a 9 seater, fan its self seems to work as its plug in backwards and is working but no controls work either way,, looking like only fix is to replace the unit, unfortunately

The resistor pack thing is in the fan shroud on the normal one .. there is not info in the parts diagrams .. they only show the resistor in one diagram in the model with AC

see the resistor is for the 4 speeds.. you can see each connection in the green unit , you can see the connections for 1,2 and 3

speed 1 through the unit via a resistor in the pack
speed 2 through the unit via a resistor in the pack
speed 3 through the unit via a resistor in the pack
speed 4 bypasses the resistor pack and puts full battery voltage to the fan

if anything needs replacing it will be the resistor ...... and you have to pull it out to work out which one it is .... because of the poor parts diagram info.
