Throttle body pin / actuator WANTED

Postby Daverse » Tue Jun 24, 2014 11:18 am

Hi all, the throttle body on my connect has broken. The pin thing that acts as an actuator has snapped, so if anyone has one spare, or know of where to get one, it would be much appreciated! Or even a good second hand throttle body would do! Its for a 07 transit connect 1.8 tdci 110 model if it makes much difference

That looks like the small pin with 2 small bearings for EGR valve.

Unfortunately it's not available separately (Not even from Ford)

You will have to replace the inlet manifold...

One is available here :arrow:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-FORD-CON ... 3a823379b3

An update on this, can the pin be pulled out? Looks like it cant, but id rather replace the pin then the whole intake

So after much deliberation trying to pull the pin through the bearings, i agree, it would be easier to change the inlet manifold. Is there a guide on here at all that would help?

Did you get this sorted?

Just had exactly the same thing myself. A right ball ache of a job too.

Yeah, finally! I didnt bother changing the inlet in the end, turns out you would have to take off the exhaust manifold e.t.c which would be far too mich effort ;) managed to split the bearing off the pin and push it back on through the cam pin.

How did you get on with yours?

Glad to hear you sorted it!

I managed to get hold of a new manifold/egr assembly, and did it the time consuming way. Inlet hose off, vac hoses off, EGR cooler off, top hose off, exhaust manifold off, inlet manifold assembly off. And hey presto, refitting is a reversal of removal, and all that.

Was worth it, my manifold was choked up badly, no doubt the pin broke due to the pressure against the valve, blocked by the carbon deposits.

Took a lot of messing around with a mirror on a stick to locate all the bolts. Eventually realised they were all odd bloody sizes, so needed 3 different sockets.

Only lost a small amount of skin and blood in the process too.

Hi mate, I assume the pin comes with the inlet manifold part? Is it difficult to replace the pin? Same has happened mine!
