Cheap LWB Chassis and Cab wanted essex/london area

Postby Nels » Fri May 23, 2008 3:59 pm

I have a MK3 (1988) transit 190 horsebox and want to swop the box onto a newer chassis. So am looking for another 190 LWB chassis and cab - don't mind if there is a luton or pickup back on the chassis etc - preferably looker for something newer ie. 1995 onwards but as long as the chassis is sound and does not require any welding etc I will consider anything! MOT and tax would be a bonus. Let me know what you have for sale! Thanks x

Welcome Nels. Is your Mk2 petrol or diesel? Why do you want the swap?

My current transit is a 1988 2 litre petrol model so I think it is actually a MK3 (sorry!) and it needs a fair bit of welding to pass the MOT. So am weighing up the costs of repairing it and getting another couple of years out of it versus the cost of swopping onto a newer chassis that in theory should last longer....It is a shame my current chassis needs the welding as the engine/wheels/tyres/everything else is in great working order!!

Forgot to add that I don't neccessarily want another petrol engine - i think a 2.5 diesel would probably pull my horse's weight better :D

You might want to think that diesel engine, as you are near to the LEZ.
