Wanted big chassis recovery

Postby bortaf » Wed Feb 17, 2010 10:43 pm

Got 2G (maybe a wee bit over?) to spend, near N London but willing to travel for a decent one :D
Not botherd about the int or a bit of spraying but i don't want to have to do any welding if i can help it :?
It must be able to carry a cortina, LEAGALY, that's 1100 - 1200 Kgs not botherd about turbo or P/S i aint a wimp and i don't mind poodling along.
Would concider an earlyer Mk3/4 small chassis but only if it's mint chassis wise, spent too many years welding small chassis to last a lifetime
No crew cabs or huge overhangs please, been there done that and it must have recovery on the V5, i live right near a busy VOSA stop area and can't be arsed with all the B/S i have to waffle to get me way out of tight spots
Already checking ebay but allways worth a try in the place most of the transit drivers hang out 8)
cheers chaps

why would it have to say recovery? and i think you mean breakdown truck, thats only for spec lifts who want to run exempt

you can also v easily change it to say what you wish

Well my first one said dropside lorry and VOSA gave me greif, the 2nd said tipper and VOSA gave me greaf every time saying it should say recovery on the V5 if it's a recovery truck or transporter i spose?
I enquired about changing the V5 to recovery at the local VOSA center while i was in for a VIC check and they said it needed to be inspected to make sure it was converted properly before they would OK the change on the V5 and TBH i thought sod that

I know this is a bit off topic but i couldn't help reading your sig, does "digital mileage correction" mean "clocking"?

you could describe it that way yes however its an offence for you to offer a car for sale with missrepresented mileage, the service itself isnt illegal

I was told that Diesel Transits before 2001 will be banned in the LEZ this October

As you're in North London that will be a big problem

I dont think they are "banned" just means you will get "fined" £100 a day to go into the LEZ area.

It is 2012 January that all transits up to 2001 are allowed into london but after that date you will either have to buy a newer transit or put a newer engine from a 2002 onwards in and get it inspected with an engine no showing so they can check where it came from simplez as Alexanda would say
