Wanted Sound Van for Camper conversion

Postby farske » Mon Jul 26, 2010 7:38 pm

Hiya all,

I've been browsing the net and looking for good vans and I keep coming to dead ends. I dont trust ebayers and I've being mainly using autotrader.
I dont mind trade or private traders. I do have a budget max of £1000 so the cheaper the better! I have never really done work before, bar changing tires, oil, cam belt etc. I am willing to learn to do bodywork, adjust and treat it as a project. I don't want it to cost me heaps more. I also have to consider insurance as I'm 25.
I dont mind if it has a few superficial dents.

Whilst I'd like to use it as a camper, I'm looking at all types, SWB, LWB, Hi, Low. Just throw it up for me to have a gander at.

I'm looking around shropshire and a little further if its a great deal, if anyone has anything or could point me in a direction that would be great.
Cheers
F

Thanks for replys so far! :)

Worth a punt?

Ambulances are pretty cool too as they are insulated have windows/skylights and are pretty heavy duty.

I have a Y reg 75 350 which is long wheelbase and high roof, I bought it to use the engine on mine which had blown up, but it seems to be a shame to trash a good van , it is virtually dent free and the wheel arches are rust free.I have just ordered a complete engine for mine from elsewhere so intend to replace the diesel pump on this one ,which is u/s,and resell it. It is taxed till end of Aug 2010 not sure of MOT as still waiting on paperwork from seller, it had a new turbo fitted about 2 months ago and is on 152,000 miles.I am located in Oxfordshire, PM me for more details and pics if required.
