I've wasted the best part of a fortnight and done over 1400 miles looking at badly described crap now so its going to be an old dog thats cheap enough to throw away when I'm finished and find a nice chassis cab and slowly build it over winter I reckon (thats if I can even find a decent chassis cab for the right money).

Thats the problem m8, does ya fookin nut in wasting days driving up and dowm the motorway, aint so bad when your in the truck with a load on as your getting paid for it then :D

Thats my plan with the bag of nails i ended up with, run it for local jobs to get my own cars and build a decent and respectable looking wagon over the winter months, and then pay the ridiculously high insurance to cover vehicles in transit and go legit, plans tend to unfold differently to imagined though

Keep at it mate, something is bound to turn up soon, may have to dig a little deeper than you want for what you get though  but hey -ho, if you don't laugh you'll cry

I've found a Mk3 that will do to keep me running (couple of pics in the gallery),fairly clean with a solid chassis (no power steering though  ) I'm now on the look out for a late Mk5 chassis cab as I want to have a play and build one as light as I can over winter.

 You don't half appreciate power steering when it's not there don't you, especially on these old trannys

Glad to hear your sorted mate, 8) it's a great sense of relief finally getting back on the road, Knowing you don't have to turn £££ away anymore.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you tbh, I have just re-sprayed ans sign written my truck now so it looks presentable, so will keep it for 6-12 months while I built my own, at least that way you get what you want and have peice of mind towards the build quality
