Mk3/4/5 Suitable For Camper

I'm on the look out for a mk3-5 van ideal for fitting out as a camper.
Ideally, mid or long wheel base, mid or high top. But will genuinely consider anything.
Mechanically sound preferable, ideally no rust. I'm not afraid of a bit of a project, scruff doesn't bother me, and interior is definitely not necessary as i will be re-building to suit our needs.
Mot is a must, as it will be a running project!
My budget, is as most people, as low as possible.
The kind of vans that have interested me so far have been in the £500-£1500 bracket, but again I will reconsider if the right thing comes along.
