Posted: Tue Nov 13, 2007 1:41 amWhy not just have the whole splinter? or here is a crazy idea, buy a mk3/4/5 Hi top Transit. Built as standard that way. Parts are available still. Some of the mk3/4s are less rusty than a mk1/2, you get a reliable diesel engine as standard in most vans which is a nice lump to do simple stuff with.
The mk3/4/5 is a better van than a splinter (personal opinion), cheaper to run and maintain, possibly more welding needed but you're use to that already.
