I'm after a SWB low top to do a semi camper conversion to, so i can carry a bike or two to meetings and take it round england. I dont really want to spend more than £500 with MOT+some TAX to drive it home on. Rustyness isnt too much of an issue as long as it's MOT'd and the chassis isnt gonna snap on the way home!
Something half done would be ideal, but im after sub £500 so i can spend the rest of my cash on the conversion bits. 2.0 pinto, or a 2.5Di would be ideal, with decent S/H and miles, i know i'm asking alot for the cash though.
I'm in Southampton, so the closer, the better!
Cheers, Kelvin.

TBH, seem to be plenty selling for about the £500 mark, in ok condition with MOT+TAX, I'm looking at mk3/4's here, so nothing new.

It's ok, we can weld it to pass MOT's no problem. Just want something soon to start work on and perhaps get to a couple of meetings, or a holiday! I think a MK3 with a pinto would be the best route. Later down the line, a mates got a turbo setup for pinto and with the low compression would be an easy enough conversion.

Whereabouts in Soton are you? I might be persuaded to look at a potential vehicle for you.
There are cheap vans about. I sold a P reg smiley with a good engine reasonable chassis (but I did have to weld up almost the whole back end) but rusty arches for £430 last year. Full Mot and 6 months tax
This ex BT doesnt look too bad
