PLEASE HELP! 9 seat Tourneo wanted - £1500-£2500

Postby duncan » Mon Jun 28, 2010 7:51 pm

Hi all, does anyone know of anyone with a 9 seater Tourneo for sale now or shortly between £1500 and £2500 that isnt a rust bucket or a death trap!? We have just had a T reg Tourneo that was purchased from Ebay for £1400 condemned after 6 months at the MOT station due to the underside being an unrepairable and hellish mixture of rust, filler, crisp packets and more rust! We have seen a few since but obviously feel a bit wary now and we really cant afford to be ripped off again. I'm looking to the members of this forum for help and am ideally looking for a W reg onwards thats reliable, with no major rust issues or hidden problems that we can buy for a fair price but that will give us a few years decent service without any major catastrophies! We are based in Lincolnshire but obviously are willing to travel for the right vehicle - hopefully someone out there on the forum may know of something that could help us out - it really would be appreciated! Thanks to you all for reading, Duncan.

I'm sure the one you have is easily repairable.

Had a couple of people look at it and its a case of replacing all the floor panels as there's no good metal left underneath to weld to, in fact you can put your hand through some of it underneath, a lot of the rest just crumbles horribly...basically someone knew exactly how crap it was underneath but just took the money and ran. With the van now out of MOT its a gamble i cant afford to take to spend big money on such a big job and then hope it passes its test. I'm going to list it on ebay with a brutally honest description and see if anyone wants it for spares or, if they're brave, repair! I'm just hoping something turns up - you have to be hopeful in life! I bought a dud, now maybe, i can buy something honest and decent and maybe one of the good people on the forum may just be able to help if they see or hear of anything that they think might be worth a look. :)

We're halfway between Boston and Spalding but like i said, we would be prepared to travel to look at an honest Tourneo mate. If you get any more details on the van then please let me know and many thanks for the response. Appreciated. :)
