Rear seats installation and purchase

Postby vinny*05 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 12:43 pm

Hello all, I bought my 1st Transit a few days ago and I am a new member. I'm looking for some advice about fitting triple seats in the back as i have 3 children. It was originally a box van and has had crew cab windows fitted. The van is 2006 (first registered 30/03/06 which makes it a mark 6 :? i think). Any advice welcome.

I've had a quick look on ebay and think i would like to get seats with seatbelts incorporated into the seats.

Thanks

i to have kids so wanted them to be safe in an accident.
i fitted the other set from a pair in my van, i had a set of 4 brackets fabricated and folded to the shape of the chassis legs and then along the floor sort of shaped like a top hat.
i found the place to fit the seats, measured all my sizes to get brackets made, then when i had the brackets positioned seat and brackets made sure they all lined up and drilled my holes,
bolted with hi tensile bolts and lock nuts also used plate washers

Do not fit seats and then try to solve the many problems ie Insurance - proper safe fitment and certification .Do the checks and ask the questions first its a minefield.
