ICE: 2 x 12" bass enclosure for Mk 6 & 7

Postby 24sheep24 » Sat Jun 29, 2019 3:59 pm

Hi,

First post on here and I appreciate this is going to seem totally irrelevant / random for what most people use their Transits for!! Bear with me because although it's a long shot, maybe someone out there is looking for something like this - you never know...

FOR SALE IS A CUSTOM SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE FOR ALL MK6 & 7 TRANSITS WITH A FACTORY STEEL BULKHEAD

  • Custom designed using WinISD Pro (acoustic modelling software) and manufactured using 1" thick MDF, this thing is super solid!
  • Designed to take 2 x 12" drivers and bolt up to the factory rear bulkhead, it seals up using 4 bolts supplied. (The lower recessed area of the bulkhead needs to be cut away to allow the drivers and ports to face into the cab.)
  • Leaves a minimum of 2.25m of load length in a SWB transit and also the ability to use the full load length in both corners
  • Features a built-in amp rack and speaker terminals. The drivers (2 x Phase Linear Thriller Pro 12's) can be included at extra cost if required
  • Top-line spec is:
    1. Volume: 174 litres
    2. Tuning frequency: 26hz
    3. Vents: 2 x 11.2x42cm circular ports (flared at both ends)
    3. Frequency response: Flat down to 30hz
    4. F3: 23hz approx
    5. Professional "TuffCab" crinkle finish

This is an exceptionally good quality enclosure for both sound quality and SPL. It used to set off other people's car alarms even with the windows wound up, lol!

Quite honestly (and somewhat embarrassingly), I've put hundreds of hours into designing and building this thing, but I now no longer have a Transit. I appreciate the market for this is likely to be small, so I'd just like the cost of materials back - £100, or £200 if you'd like the drivers to go with it.

Collection only (the box is extremely heavy due to the nature of it's construction and intended use).

I'm in Bath, North Somerset.

Pete

PS Thanks for reading, I know it's a bit random!!
