Faults codes
B1934 &
B2234, Have indentified a short circuit in the wiring for the drivers airbag.
Firstly check the wiring on the airbag squib (clockspring) on the steering column & also check wiring loom connecting the airbag to the squib (clockspring) behind the airbag for damage.
As the fault is affecting both stage-1 & stage 2 loop on the airbag (Drivers airbag is a 2-stage airbag)' It is high likely that the squib (clockspring) is the faulty part & will require a replacement assembly.
The easiest way to confirm this is by removing & disconnecting the airbag* & read then codes again . If the squib (clockspring) if working fine, you should get these 2 fault codes
B1932 &
B2232 indicating an "open circuit" or High resistance. (
IF YOU DO GET CODES B1932 & B2232 THEN AIRBAG IF FAULTY)
BUT If you are still getting fault codes
B1934 &
B2234. disconnect the wiring loom from the squib (clockspring) on steering column & read codes again & you should then get codes B1932 & B2232 which confirms that squib (Clockspring) is faulty
* Disconnect the battery first & allow a minimum of 15 minutes to allow the airbag system to power down, Before removing & disconnecting the airbag.
