Fitting 2 or 3 Racing Seats in a MK7

Postby A Jack » Wed Feb 13, 2013 5:35 pm

I am going to fit racing seats in my Mk7, does anyone know if I will be able to fit three, 1 drivers, 2 passengers or whether I can only fit 2, 1 driver and 1 passenger. The widest part of the seats are 550 ml. I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on it. TYVM. ATB. Reeco

Cheers Mate, It's in my Mate's garage having some custom work done. I will measure it tomorrow, when I get it back. It would be nice to know has anyone fitted 3 seats in the front, I saw a Transit Sport and it had only in the front, so maybe space is limited. ATB. Reeco

A mk6 is basically the same and the double seat is 870 and any wider the handbrake is near to being covered

TYVM Mate, that answers my question, it's two seats only in the front then. ATB. Reeco

I like that Mate, TYVM for posting the pic, I wonder if I could buy 1 racing seat and ask the retrimmer to match up the double seat in same fabric and colour scheme. You have given me an idea. ATB. Reeco

I wouldn't have ST on my seats because mine is not an ST. If I had an ST repica, I might have the lettering then. ATB. Reeco
