Mk1 used in Armed Robbery

Postby tranorak » Thu Jan 18, 2007 5:40 pm

The film LAYER CAKE opens with the back doors of a Mk1 Transit blasting open....

then Armed Robbery occurs...

The reg looks like NTJ 569D and I saw no assurance that 'no vans were harmed in the making of this film'... is this the film Fred wanted a Security Van for?? just a regular van by the look of it.
You can see the windows in the back doors are crudely fillered over  and it has the silver centred rear lights as per tailgate model, not the rubber centre sort for twin doors tut tut
& later on the villains move a corpse in the back of...quess what... :D

Anyway its a fine film, go and see it or buy the DVD

Layer cake was just abit before my time in the film biz, just wait till you see Supergrass! No transits were harmed in the production of that! I have been on the look out for a cash van cos the only ones in the business are Mk3/4 and no good for pre 86 scenes, which I have lost work for.

I know that van. I last saw it dressed as a police van on a transporter when I did Fallen Angels. It's er, a bit poorly, not to mention NOT a D reg..... It's a phase2 around 1974ish. I think somebody dropped some numberplates on the floor, cos it always wears those plates.

This one-

Now that would make him laugh - hes got his own personal scrapyard.

Not for profit, just old nails he used for six months and left.....

Have you seen it Pete? I haven't, but that number tranorak posted comes off the Mk1 I posted, and the van in the pic here has a white roof. It's not a 1966 though.
