My New Mk 7

Postby Big Ben 83 » Wed May 01, 2013 8:28 am

Hello everyone, I'm new on here as i've never owned a Transit before.
Tbh i'm not really a Ford fan but you can't really go wrong with a tranny.

Bought this last weekend, not really been anyway in it yet as i've not taxed it yet.
It's a 2006 Mk7 330 SWB low roof RWD and yet its an ex RAC lol.

I've got a few plans. The idea is to turn it into a surf van and use it for when we go racing to tow our car.

Is that your spare tyre on the roof

I love that orange colour, really has grown on me since I bought mine. You tempted to colour code the bumpers? I might do mine and some of the interior bits of trim like the glove box lid, ash tray cover and cup holder lid. Just need to find the best way of doing it without it looking crap.

This was not intention, I was after a white van but it's hard to find a rwd with a one piece back door. But seen as i've got orange i'll go with the team colours.

Didn't notice the tyre till after lol.

Yeah there will be a lot of colour coding, I'm after a sports kit for it and i'm going to introduce another colour but you'll have to wait and see lol.

I'm not one for leaving things looking standard. I've already bought a few little things for it.

Finished work today and had loads of parcels come for my van.
I think the little this can make all the difference

I've got some LED side lights and chrome indicator bulbs.

Not updated for a while.

Been distracted for a few weeks on other projects but i've had a week off work as its MOT time on my truck so i've knucked down on my van.

Bought ST kit for it (cheap so took some fitting)

A lot of Glue and screws to hold it on.

Drove around for a bit like that. Took a pic on our way back from Birmingham on a drift day.

Anyway back to getting my head down lol.

Skirts are on as well but you can't really see them in the picture.

Put a bit of polish round my foot plates.

Not done anything with the back bumper yet but i'll look at that next weekend.

Another quick update.

Added another colour and painted the roof and corners of the bumper with it.

Also fitted some lights in the bottom of the bumper.
