Hi could any one with the x network rail vans tell me i want to remove the light sensor at the top left of the side door as you enter for a normal 240 light switch switch could you tell me wiring does the earth go in the common ?

How many wires do you have?
A switched live
A permanent live
An Earth
If you have the above, connect The permanent live to Common, and the switched live to L1
Put the earth into a piece of connector strip on its own, or tape it up, you dont need it.
