I did attempt to remove the lock with a view to looking at this, due to time contraints (I was informed with bits of the van all over the car park she wanted to go out at 3) I gave up. Is there a trick to getting that lock mech out cause I couldnt see an easy way to do it, no movement in any direction, well not enough to get it out without taking the regulator out as far as I can see.

Yes it is hard, I had to remove the white plastic bit before it would come out once you take that off you can twist it sideways and it just squeezes out it's tight but it does come out, I agree no good if your being rushed !

These people have lock repair kits and sets, the repair kit allows you to select the right wards to still use the original key
( the locks wear far more than the keys) so you still have your original immobiliser chip and no messing with the electronics side, simpler and cheaper, I have used a number of these and once youve done one they are a piece of cake, this ad is for the ign lock but they have the door ones too, you usually only need to do ign and drivers door, for obvious reasons.

That's quite pricey! you can get full lock set with keys for that but your right about the chip, you have to get a new one cut or just keep the old one on your keyring like I do and hold it near the barrel when you start with The new key. Sorted

Like with everything you get what you pay for, i have bought the cheapos and had loads of greif with them, these are ford ones as original.

Luckily all My cheap ones are working fine and were easy to fit , every lock on the same key
