He's asking about an EPIC not a bosch. The epics do not use +12V DC to keep the ESOS open (they use a variable voltage as far as I can gather), so putting +12V live to it will kill it in short order. The starter wires won't be the same either, the petrol battery is on the other inner wing!
The only way to put an epic transit engine in is to fit the complete wiring loom, additional fuse boxes and the ECU etc. You will also need the radiator from a diesel, the fuel tank, fuel lines, exhaust and the gearbox possibly the engine mounts on the chassis too. So, in reality you need a donor vehicle. You may need to swap the instrument cluster too.
Personally I don't think its a days job... Im not a slow worker, I have swapped a few transit engines (diesel to diesel) and its a long day to swap them over. This will require a bit of thought, wiring works, dashboard out etc etc. In reality unless you are a very good mechanic with all the gear I would think you would be looking at about a weeks work. A good mechanic would probably take 2 days - possibly longer with tea breaks and lunch breaks etc!
