Ford transit 2008 jumbo radio cut off

hi can anyone help my with my problem I have a ford transit 2008 jumbo and when the igniton key is out and my son turns the radio on it works and then about a few minutes later it cuts out and on the dash board straight after it say engine malfunction can anyone help me please

The front battery is knackered.
