2004 Connect seat alternatives

I have a 2004 Transit Connect 220, left hand drive (I am in France) and I have fitted a bulkhead. Now, of course, the passenger seat cannot be unfolded because the bulkhead stops it leaning back far enough to click into a locked position. So, I am looking to pull the passenger seat out and fit a regular seat, like out of a Focus or something. What have people fitted to their older-model Transit Connects, that bolted straight in?

So far as I know, there's NO alternative to bolt straight in, you need a RHD drivers seat.... after a lot of search and research, I eventually acquired a LHD drive seat from Bay (Germany) for my RHD connect. MY regular passenger is very happy with it. There are plenty of what you need available.

PS: Just out of curiosity, would anyone like to swap their annoying RHD driver's seat for a very comfortable fold-away passenger seat? Then you'd be able to fold both away - even more convenient!

Okay, question for the Ford Parts experts… is the drivers seat in a 2004 Transit Connect the same as in other Transit vans? From, say, 2002-2009 for example?

Mine is a 2004 - which years am I limited to?
They didn't change the seat every year did they - ha ha (that would be just my luck).

So far as I know, they are all the same...but the trim pattern does vary so if you want a matching seat, look out for that.

You can get one for a little as £40, depending on condition. http://www.vanservices.co.uk/ are ok. dont have one listed on-line, but might find one for you, http://www.ecovanspares.com/ have a Connect listed as "newly in" these two are in my city, Bristol, cant reccommend another as I don't know them otherwise eBay or this Forum.

If you search " passenger seat" in the Connect Forum, you will find pages and pages on this topic going back to 2008...all the modifications done to fit alternatives: Fiesta ST to Recaros I understand from a professional they are all now VOSA illegal as they involve cutting and welding and/or bolting together.

Thats why I took a chance and paid out to get a LHD seat from Germany.... Bonne Chance!

I've got family in Newport (I'm from Cwmbran originally and could see Bristol on a clear day from my bedroom), so I'll have one of them arrange it for me.
Matching trim isn't an issue; it belonged to a decorator before I got it so everything has splashes of artex on it - the doors, the dash, even the gear stick.

Get your family to phone them.
They quoted me £45 for a complete seat--wouldn't sell me just the height adjust lever...they alone cost £35 from Ford !!!

Spoilt for choice around Gwent, actually.

Maybe try the search sites like this one : http://www.breakeryard.com/ There are several of these, its like buying flight tickets.

HOWEVER : if you search eBay "Ford Transit Connect breaking" you will find about a zillion. Ask lots of questions: Have a dialogue and choose the one you feel kool with.

I've got one and now I'm arranging a courier. I can measure the dimensions of mine but I'm wondering what the weight is? Anyone got an idea how many kilograms?

Between 25 and 35Kg at a very rough guess. Hard to judge as Its awkward to handle rather than actually weighty.
Why don't you ask the person you are buying it from?

Thanks for the guess - I'm going to list it as 20kg, I'm guessing it is probably about the same as a full water jerry. You're right though, it's more volume than mass.
And... I want to order it today and this forum is much faster than e-mailing this seller.
