Nice phone mounts...

Postby Mikeemikester » Wed Jun 12, 2013 8:21 pm

Hi Guys/gals,

I've just bought my '09 swb low top transit. Loving it so far! I'm just gonna sort the basics before getting onto sprucing a few things up a little. First on the list is to mount the phone (Iphone 4s) ,having the factory Bluetooth is great but I need the phone on display to see who's calling. How have people done this in their vans? Ideally I don't want a clunky great metal mount screwed into the dash- the brodit clip fit ones look okay but are there any really nice tidy solutions out there?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section- mods please move if it is!

Any help much appreciated people!!!

Cheers, Mike.

I just leave mine in the cup holder as it's not much use for small cups

Not much out there, I've modded a ipod GPS holder, but even that's the best of the worst, I did it as I wanted wired connection.

That's kind of what I was trying to avoid to be honest, but as far as I can see there aren't too many good solutions out there!

Hi Bee,

The reason I posted on here about this is because I ordered the Tetrax Geo- I tried to fit it this morning and because of the angle of the louvres on the vent it didn't work at all. Mine's an '09, which year is yours- are you saying the xway works okay? I guess the frame holds it away from the vent just enough...

Think all the vents are the same, on mine once you stick the grabber on the vent you then tighten it with a ring that screw down. Is yours the same?

I found if you slide the phone down it never pulls the holder of the vent, but if you pull it forwards it tilts the vent then pulls the holder off too.

This is the one I've got bee...

http://www.handtec.co.uk/tetrax-geo-ste ... tAodCQ0AtQ

The mount just doesn't seem to want to stay on the vent and the angle of the vent seems to stop the phone sitting properly. Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow. Thanks for your help mate, loving your van!
