Ok, i had given up on the idea of fitting because it looked like a lot of hassle! but on one of my scavenging hunts i got a complete dash loom and relays for £15. I tried swapping this but it was damaged! C/l faults and instrumentation
So I unpicked the heated screen wiring.
All I had in the existing van was the two 40a fuses in the engine bay, not even the pillar wiring was there.
The two 40a were live and ran back to the main plug between engine and dash, so I took the connector apart and slotted in the two feeds to the dash fuse board( there was two empty relay ports on this)
And I transferred the wires one by one, the switch wire was run back the the dash and the illumination and earth wires spliced into the the mirror switch as it had been on the original loom.
The heavy cables were run to each corner and the earths connected to the existing points at each wheel arch, then the pillar wiring dropped down to connect to the wheel arches
I robbed the switch power from the rear wiper motor relay( unused and the correct amp) this is the only wore that was not factory like

and the switch earths at the relay were spliced into the other relay earths under the fuse box as per original.
Lastly the other side of the 5amp fuse was clicked into the dash fuse box and a fuse popped in, as per the original.
All taped back to the original loom and looking as good as new
Then £175+vat for the screen fully fitted by euro windscreens( I was quite surprise at how cheap it was, considering it was £115 for a standard one) and my excess was going to be £100 if I'd claimed!
All in all up and running for around £230! And I needed a screen any way so I could say only about £100 for the heated
