Help fuel/ Injector leaking

Postby toot4789 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 6:00 pm

Right I've tried doing this once so apologise if its on twice (using iPhone)

Right i have a 2008 connect T230 L90
Had nothing but problems since owning started with the alternator problem then a fuel pipe, starter motor another fuel pipe and another and another. Total of 5 pipes

Injector/fuel pipe keeps popping off either long distance or when being thrashed,
My mechanic said it was the bracket for the injector distributor which mounts on the engine which had come loose, tightened it and still POP another one, so I had it welded and it seems to be ok but I have to drive at snails pace,

Also I find the engine changes tone before its going todo it sounds very rough. Dunno if this makes any sense. But the engine is sounding rough again so I have a feeling it's going to go again.
Another thing is i have a clicking in the glove box like a micro switch sound, for the life of me I cannot figure out what and where it is didn't know if this has anything todo with it temperamental starting as well sometimes mainly cold.

I will upload a pic of the pipe which keeps popping.
PLEASE SOMEONE help this is doing my head in.

Post a pic of the fuel pipe that keeps "popping off"

Clicking sound emitting from fuse box, maybe a relay located on fuse panel of central locking module - both are located behind glove box.

Anyone please help.

When you say "popping off" popping off from where, are the pipe unions working their way loose & you have to retighten them or the pipe is coming out from the union ??
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

Liteace - when I say popping that's the sound it makes when it pops/blows/splits/breaks when traveling, I haven't ever managed to see where it leaks from as it just gushes diesel all over my alternator and I drop it at the garage As soon as.

The pipes have split/broke/popped several times I wouldn't say it's the unions need tightening as my mechanic surely wouldn't keep replacing them, I've had 5 brand new ones fitted. [POUTING FACE]

This may sound silly but it's like there's too much pressure, my little van is extremely nippy for a little van if someone had turned the fuel pump up or messed around with it to try to make it faster would this cause this,
Thinking back to my old 306 when we used to turn fuel pumps up and wind turbos out.
Food for thought.

Cheers liteace if u could think of anything to help get to the bottom of this let me know

If someone had messed with the pump the engine management system would flag a "rail pressure to high" code, you need to find out a little more info, when it breaks, where does it break, also when the mech fits the new one does it line up or does it have to be bent to shape to make it fit ?

Liteace so I called down to my mech and he's done one. Cleared up and gone :/
So I know have no info.

Quick update I tried to tighten the bracket yesterday as the engine tone changed (when it changes I know it's due to go) and the noise has gone engine sounds a lot better it didn't feel like it tightened but something has changed.
Fingers crossed

Now it's the glove box clicking now [POUTING FACE]

Cheers liteace for your advice

I would get the DTC codes read :!:

Its does sound like too high pressure - Fuel metering valve, but then surely it would have blown one of the older pipes rather than the new one.

Or the new pipe is a very poor aftermarket part :?:
