im only going to be running petrol for a little while then it will be on lpg

i thought i was restricted to a max capacity of 466ci but the van is listed as a commercial vehical so i have alot more freedom with engine size so the twin turbo LPG setup is looking very tempting so duz the 557ci stroker for $2600

well i havnt done anything for a week so im going to make a tail shaft tomorrow and mount the steering box

Tracked down a sump that will clear the x member and i still need to space the gearbox x member 6mm of the body to get correct gearbox > pinion angle then the engine box will be made

i need to get it done by Aug as im putting it in a burnout comp @ the southcoast nats

OK finally got to do some work on the van

Today i decided to mount the steering column its from a 95 ford falcon
I chose this column because it was adjustable in hight and length but not so i can have this feature in my van but more for the reason that it gives me some flexability with the mounts and length of the column for doing this kind of conversion i can simply adjust it to suit the van

Had to make a bottom mount good thing is it already had holes in the pedal box for one



its even got an airbag, but it wont be staying



a keen eye will reconise this bit as being the top section of the factory transit steering tube that has been welded to the falcon column i used it because i needed to support the lower section of the column and it was a perfect fit even the bearing is the right size and i can also use the factory tranit rubber boot to seal it off

what wheel are you gonna fit - ive just been doing mine (mk4 column) and when i fit my wheel (deep dish springalex) its close to the driver!

I had to modifiy the boss kit as they dont make sports wheels for this column due to it being fitted with an airbag

Good looking fit and there's nothing like having the blinker and wiper controls on the correct side of the column...Looks like that engine took up a chunk of your left leg room..

Yeah it took up some realestate but i will be building a foot rest into the new engine box

The power steering it getting closer to completion just need to do the final on the box mounting bracket and get the steering box to column joint resplined

Got my pitman arm back today

It from a HQ Holden i had to use it as the transit item set the drag link out to far and it fouled the tyre on full lock

Was not a bolt on jod though, i had to modify the 4 wide locating splines so the pitman could be rotated and i also had to get the tapered hole that the drag link bolts to changed to the inside and enlarged to suit the transit rod end

But as you can see its all bolted up and turning, I now have 3 turns lock to lock

all i need to do now is connect the column to the box
