They are not made for specific vehicles. All it is is a short piece of tubing with an over presure valve on the side. The tricky bit is getting the correct bits of tubing to connect it and if you've got something rare and Japanese then it all has to be anodised blue aluminium

It shouldn't be a problem on the 2.5 td transit engine as there is a long section of tubing between the turbo and the inlet manifold to fit it. I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference on a diesel though. On a petrol engine when you lift off the throttle to change gear the air inlet is effectively completely blocked and the turbo pressure quickly builds to very high levels slowing the turbo. This just isn't the same in a diesel because there is no throttle.
All the same the sound would be cool
