Looking for a transit myself. Noticed your wanted ad. Why do you not want a W reg Mk 6 transit is there problems with the early ones. Only want to know so I can avoid them myself if there are known issues.

Many thanks

W REG

Postby TRANSIT MAN » Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:54 pm

The mk6 started on a w reg, mostly the bigger ones,350s and the like,i knew 2 different firms that bought some for thier fleet,a parcel firm and a bakery, anyway,i never buy anything in its first year of production, because this is when things have the teething troubles and end up getting recalls etc, anyway, word was at the time that the gearbox in the new mk6 was prone to shitting itself and that proved right in the case of the two firms that i new,the parcel firm had 4 out of six g/boxes replaced and the bakery replaced 2 of the 4 that they owned,
what ever the problem was i was told there all good from X reg onwards, that is my tale and the moral of this story is dont buy a w reg transit 350 unless,
1,its really cheap
2,it comes with a spare g/box or 2,
THE END

Just what I was thinking too :!: :? :? :? :?

If they were that prone to failure, I doubt you'll find one with an original gearbox :!:

:? :? :? Didn't they use the MT75 :?: :? :? :?
