Fitted the hid conversion, tbh it was dead simple, took less than an hour so not many pics.

Changed bulbs for hids, added a little shrink wrap over the terminals to be safe.



Cut the bulb cover to fit the grommet

I'll pop to the mot place when I get a chance but the cut off is very good, the beam very even and no protests from other drivers......yet.

Did you buy the Philips CANbus warning canceller to go with the sidebulbs? or does it work without the canceller?

You only need a can bus canceller for the brake lights and indicators, the HID kit has it built in.

No, just on the dip beam. You can't fit HID's to the main beams.

Yep, xenons don't heat up fast enough to be used as flashers. Can't wait for LED headlights to become the norm.

No, just on the dip beam. You can't fit HID's to the main beams.

Surely HID's are fine for main beam, I've had them in a couple of cars in the past? They may take a while to warm up but the initial striking of the arc is much brighter than a normal bulb so they'll flash alright, its just repeated cycling them on and off blows the "bulbs" (burners?) pretty quickly.

If you say so, but it doesn't change the fact that you can't fit HID's to the main beam in the Custom.

Looking good, and - as I discovered on a particularly dark country road a few days ago - they give a fantastic improvement in visibility compared to the standard bulbs.

How did you black out your headlights?
