I think it actually looks more like a Connect shape if you drew some wheels on it !

The cover was well under a fiver to buy. Just to tidy up a hole really, as the jack is screwed into the panel behind the driver seat (in a felt bag)

Finally :!: :!:

Bagged a pair of Door cards in dark pewter

Image

Old ones will be up for grabs..

Also done Mondeo/Focus mk3 flip key. Already had the remote fob but had a flat key blade.
Purchased blank Tibbe Key blade from ebay then added WI carbon chip in casing as it wasn't supplied with one.

Then got Ford to cut blade at the same time while cutting a new Standard key for me. 8)

Genuine Ford standard key with W1 carbon chip - Ford part no F4355661 £20. (uncoded)

Purchase this tow bar from ebay £55 complete with fitting kit - remove from a connect.

Image

Strange looking fitting kit - 2 long bolts & 4 spacers

Image

Oh well, 4 new bolts are required - preferably the correct ones :!:

I grabbed this one as it was listed with elec & fitting kit.

Although fitting kit or part of, is not even correct for connects
As for electrics there's no by-pass relay :( Which is a definite must have.

Finally picked door handles up today.

Image

Fitted rear handle first - it's the easiest one. No need to remove door lock assembly (unlike the fronts doors)

Image

As for the old door handles. Like this rear one, they are badly faded.

Image

I still have paint left (Diamond White). So may decide to get them painted up too & put them up for sale ??

Fitted front door handles & here is the procedure

Once door card has been removed. Drill out 2 rivets in security cover.

Image

Unbolt & remove window runner rail

Image

Remove 3 torx bolts securing door lock assembly, Key barrel clamp & linkage to door handle.
To remove key barrel, insert key & turn until square locking tab depresses. Rotate barrel clockwise then pull it free from door.

Image

Remove torx bolt securing door handle end cap (small part), then pull & slide main handle from door.
also remove rubber seals - I did this to clean them & door.

Image

Then refit handles the same way they were remove - make sure handle engages with lever on reinforcement panel.

Image

Refit security cover with new rivets

Image

Image

Before fitting my door cards, I'm going to fit Mondeo mk3 interior door handles 8)

Remove the bottom end on pin first (there is what appears to be a pressed on cap) from both Connect & Mondeo interior door handles.

Image

Once pin has been removed you can then remove connects handles & fit Mondeo ones in place of the Connects ones.
Refit pin, there should be enough pin protruding from the bottom - carefully bevel edge over with a hammer.

They should look like this once you have finished
