It really isn't, do you not think that Esso the people who make the fuel would not sell it at a cheaper price then the Supermarkets! Just Google it if you don't believe me!

"Refinery Additives – The Infineum R series, used by refiners to meet finished fuel quality specifications or to facilitate operations within the refinery

Fuel Performance Additives – The Infineum F series, used by fuel marketers to enhance the fuels performance, thus enabling oil companies to advertise and differentiate their products to their customers.

Fuel Borne Catalysts – Infineum Fuel Borne Catalysts (FBCs) have been developed to meet tightening particulate matter emission legislations and subsequently the growing need for an effective Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration."

I stand corrected(ish)

The top 2 are just a different ratio of ethanol to methanol mixture. If these where out in any way at a particular refinery it would affect the local fuel quality.

The fuel borne catalyst is just a soap solution

i once had to do a site survey at the buncefield depot ( the one that blew up) and all the different retailers tankers ( shell, tesco et al) filled up from the same rig. though someone i knew who insisted it was all different reckoned they mixed their own additives in the tankers after filling up with the raw fuel

the huge queues at the supermarket pumps put me off too

I try to avoid tesco at all costs now as they hate bikers, even my diesel money goes elsewhere.
Usually use morrisons, cos for every oil fields worth you buy you get a £5 voucher to use on food

Apparently this is the problem and it has spread up to n england now, if you havent got a vehicle with ox censors then it will just miss a bit, Modern technology, good in one way, but a pain in another, a guy on the news with a bm has 2 fitted it is costing him over a grand, and apparently until some cars have there mot tjhey wont know there is a problem, the emmissions test will fail though, Just glad theres no modern electric technology onb my van, Mike
