Rear side window

Postby zaphod79 » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:04 am

Just managed to get my self a bargain on ebay. Sliding side window for the rear of my van for only eight golden nugets!! Trouble is i have no desire to cut a hole in the van and bodge it!! So has anyone got any top tips to offer me? Or a good place in the West Mids that will fit it for dirt cheap!

Thanks Guys

Can't be that difficult, I have never done one before but if you are willing then so am I. (sounds like I'm a tart)
I have a tape that measures feet inches and them funny forign things, half a brain cell, and some masking tape, and also a nice nibbling tool (ooh err mrs) that cuts without distortion. It's only like fitting a sink in a worktop, innit? Sort of.....
Measure 4 times, cut once and jobs a good un.

What sealing is used, and how does it physically attatch, nuts or self tappers?

If its a transit window all you do is cut the hole and use a bit of string to pull the rubber thru :D Same as the ones in the back doors and quarterlights

Postby zaphod79 » Sun Mar 11, 2007 5:24 pm

Rubbers im afraid no bolts or self tappers. Im paranoid about getting the hole the wrong size or shape and e left with a gaping hole. But i think im willing. Bit busy next few weeks tho when are you normally available sidspop
