Oil pump recall

Postby Guy88 » Fri Aug 15, 2014 11:10 am

Anyone else heard this yet.

Was in a ford today dropping another mk7 and have been told by service there that there's a modified oil pump being fitted to the 2.2 euro 5 engines in the mk7 and custom.

Maybe ford have worked out there's an issue at long last

I presume the engines are built in various countries, the engines are supplied to other manufacturers so is it just engines built in Turkey specifically for Transits that are affected ?

Does this mean if you have had an engine go pop as a result of oil pump failure out of warranty you will be refunded the price of an engine ?

Guy , if you're in Ford early next week could you ask the service lad a bit more about this, as for it being paid for by Ford if out of warranty I would say why not, Its obviously cheaper to replace the pump before the engines break so I wonder if owners will be notified of a recall.
