operating a door switch or bonnet switch on a 2000 - 2006 transit puts the factory installed alarm into test mode

or if it's 2006--> it activates the self test on the GEM

neither are going to be much good to you i think.

If your doors are cycling after locking, and your lights are staying on, one of the doors is sending back a signal telling the central security module that it's open.

if a door is going to be a problem, it's usually the o/s rear because the loom has been broken or cut. Have a good look at the black plastic sheathing, if it has kinks in it, remove the o/s rear lamp and disconnect the black and grey plugs and try locking the van again.

disconnect a front door and try locking it, you'll find the wiring multiplug at the bottom of the A pillar.

when you've decided which door it is, remove the door panel and check the wiring, they can chafe on the window regulator teeth or you could get water into the multiplugs which has corroded.

went mad earlier on. took both front door panels off, unlpugged everything and cleaned up contacts. disconnected both back door contacts. still wont lock. tested multiplug at control unit under dashboard found that both front doors and back tailgate are -ve when closed and side door is -ve when opened. test ok for continuity. think it maybe control unit but then u know what thought done.... time for a beer..
